LDF seat sharing in Kerala

The ruling party of Kerala has almost completed its seat sharing procedure for the coming assembly elections. Communist party of India (Marxist) will contest in 95 seats, in which five seats will be given for independent candidates and CPI in 27 seats. The RSP, NCP and the JD(S) will have four seats each. P C Thomas group of Kerala Congress will get three seats.
This decision will be finalized after the meeting of CPI(M) leaders with CPI and other party allies today. CPI got three extra seats compared to 2006. In 2006, CPI(M) had only 91 seats with seven independent candidates. At present situation congress may have to be satisfied with one seat and Indian National League (INL) may get two seats.
Exchange of seats is made in certain constituencies. K C will contest in Thiruvananthapuram, Kaduthuruthy and Kothamangalam. RSP will face Chavara, Eravipuram, Kunnathur and Aruvikkara. JD(S) might get Thiruvalla, Angamally, Kovalam and Vadakara. Kuttanad, Pala, Elathur and a constituency in Malappuram district is expected to go to NCP.
